SmartThreads is a socially conscious clothing brand that creates contemporarily designed, ethically produced college-licensed lifestyle apparel. They believe that in order to help ourselves, we need to reach up, reach down, reach everywhere—reach the world by contributing to it in our specialized industries, trying to do things resourcefully. And from where we are, it can only be done with small steps and helping hands.
As a socially responsible company, 1=1 means giving half their profits to socially conscious charities and projects. 50/50. How do they give? For every dollar they earn, 50% of the profit goes toward: Local needs and causes, e.g. the local university community; or worldwide needs and causes: anywhere people need support, from distressing economic conditions to areas affected by natural disasters.
