About Brüzer + Renü
In May 1992, a few friends met in a local watering hole to create the icon that would represent Canada’s newest clothing company, Brüzer. The icon was to be a fun, strong image which connotes quality built apparel. After hours of brainstorming, sketching and laughing, the Brüzer “kid” was born.
For years now, Brüzer has been producing a Retail line of apparel mainly focused on the Collegiate and Resort markets. In the 90s, Brüzer built a successful line of apparel “for a board society”. Wakeboarding and Snowboarding was a big part of our lifestyle and it showed in the design of our apparel. We built a strong name in the board-sports community with distribution across Canada and into the US.
The world has changed a great deal in the past 16 years. Our concern for the environment has inspired us to make a difference in the world we live in. It was important for us to research and develop the line of environmentally sensitive product. We named it Renü.
Renü uses Organic Cotton (certified by GOATS – Global Organic Apparel and Textile Standards), Bamboo and recycled fabrics in our product. We also see the importance of printing our garment locally using water-based inks - much gentler on the printing operators and our water system than plastisol inks.
Every year brings new technologies that allow us to make a lighter footprint. We are dedicated to staying on top of the curve and offering new alternatives that will inevitably make a positive or at least a less negative impact in the environment in which we all live.Bruzer supports sustainable farming, fair labour, and environmentally friendly practices.
